The Tectona Grandis ( Teak Wood ) tree, which is indigenous to South and Southeast Asia, is the source of teak wood. A dense and a closely-grained kind of hardwood which has a smooth grain and texture, and its natural color is golden.
What is a Perahera ?
Perahera is a parade in Sri Lanka that is held annually in order to pay respect to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. As shown in the Art it consists of various types of dancers, fire breathers, drummers and magnificently dressed elephants. The most decorated in Sri Lanka Tusker carries the Casket which consists of the Ancient Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Many tourists from all over the world visits Sri Lanka in the month of July to see the Esala Maha Perahera ( Sri Dalada Perehara ) which is the biggest Perahera held in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
